Parent, Guardian, Caretaker and Family Groups

Children and youth begin their life learning with their parents or guardians and extended families. When youth leave the school, they return to their home where caregivers are often stretched to understand and meet the needs of their children impacted by trauma or toxic stress. This challenge affects care-givers’ health and well-being. We encourage parents, guardians and caretakers of children and youth to learn as much as possible about trauma sensitive schools and take advantage of all our pre-set packages through the lens of the family.

Suggested areas of learning:
  • TSS Awareness Training
  • Coaching and supporting implementation of trauma sensitive principles and practices
  • Trauma sensitive school culture
  • Compassion resilience and self-care
  • Using a trauma sensitive approach to address difficult and persistent behaviors.
